For any family looking for a vacation to a diverse place, check out all that Washington State has to offer. Washington State is widely known as a rainy area of the country, but this isn’t necessarily the truth. While there is a rainy area of the state, the state overall has much more to offer.
Greater Seattle Area
Seattle is a beautiful large city with a vibrant shopping and waterfront area. Many water recreational opportunities are available in and around the city as Puget Sound and the nearby lakes plays a large role in the metropolitan life of the greater Seattle area.
Olympic Peninsula
From Port Angeles to Neah Bay and more, the Olympic Peninsula is a true natural wonder. Home to the Olympic Mountains and the breathtaking Hurricane Ridge, the Olympic Peninsula is one of the most accessible and rugged natural areas in the United States. It is also home to the must be seen Hoh Rain Forest.
Pacific Coast
From Ocean Shores to Long Beach, the Washington State coastline is unlike the coastal areas found in other areas of the country. With wide open beaches and rugged rock formations, this isn’t anything like the beaches you see in Hollywood movies and television.
The Cascade Mountains
With multiple roadways that cross the mighty Cascade Mountain range, beautiful places like Mount St. Helens, Mount Rainier, Mount Adams and more are relatively easy to access and enjoy.
Eastern Washington
Much of the area in Eastern Washington gets no more rainfall than a great number of desert areas in the south. For many years the land has been used for agricultural purposes and in summer months it is easy to find fresh produce like apples, pears, cherries, potatoes, corn, grapes, and more. Eastern Washington also has a very active winery industry.
There is much more to Washington State than just rainfall, it must truly be seen to be appreciated. From the ocean, to the beaches, to Puget Sound, to the Cascade Mountains, and finally the temperate Eastern Washington area, few states can match the diversity offered by Washington.
