An NFL Draft Party Is A Great Way For A Football Fan To Spend The Day
With the Super Bowl in the rear view mirror, if you’re looking for a great way to keep the sport alive then plan an NFL Draft Party to coincide with the upcoming event. The NFL Draft has grown from an event that wasn’t even covered much by daily newspapers a few decades ago to a two-day live TV event. Now, only diehard fans could possibly justify an NFL Draft Party spilling over to day two, but if that is you… a tip of the hat your way.
Needed for your NFL Draft Party:
One to three nationally recognized mock draft print outs. This is a great way to follow along with the live draft and insult those who appear to acts as if they know how the draft will go (no one ever does).
Plenty of good food. Think of this as your lone opportunity to tailgate in April.
ESPN on television. There is no better way to experience the draft than by watching Chris Berman and the boys analyzing, re-analyzing, and over-analyzing each and every pick.
Pre-made betting pool. Fill up a sheet of paper with 10-20 questions. Samples: Which team will be the first to trade a draft pick after the draft starts? Who will be the first offensive player chosen? Who will be the first defensive player chosen? Which college will be the first to have two players taken in the draft? Etc. Now, assign point values to each question and hand them out to your guests. At the end of the draft, add up the points to see who wins. Charge a small fee to enter the contest and the winner takes the pot.
Comfortable seating. One of the overlooked aspect to any party, but the NFL Draft goes on for hours… if your guests aren’t comfortable, they may not stay for the whole thing.
Diversionary activity. Even the biggest football fans could find themselves a little bored at some point during this l-o-n-g day. Setup a table and have a mid-draft Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament… or any other activity you can think of.
An NFL Draft Party is a great way to keep football alive during the spring when not much else related to football is going on.
