Even if you have never considered yourself a rodeo fan, you will probably be one for at least a day if you ever attend the National Finals Rodeo sponsored by Wrangler and put on by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. This event is the pinnacle event in the rodeo world where the best of the best come to compete to see who ranks number one in this highly competitive sport. The National Finals Rodeo, or NFR, is held every year at the Thomas & Mack Convention Center on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas, in Las Vegas, Nevada during the first week of December. The event lasts for ten days and is pretty much action-packed during it’s entire run.

It doesn’t matter if you attend all ten days or just one or two, you will see some of the nation’s elite rodeo performers. We got our National Final Rodeo tickets at the urging of some friends and although neither I nor my wife are every day rodeo fans, we couldn’t help but be swept up in the drama of the competition and the excitement of the events. We even ended up leaving the arena with favorite performers in a sport that until then we had never even considered watching. The excitement is just that addictive.

It also doesn’t hurt that the event is held in quite possibly one of the most exciting cities on Earth, Las Vegas. Great food, awesome weather for December, and the excitement of Las Vegas are nice amenities surrounding this event as well… you would have to try hard to not enjoy yourself for any event held in Las Vegas… and the NFR, you don’t have to try hard to enjoy at all.
